What is male pattern hair loss?

How does Propecia help?

Finasteride is a derivative of a type of 5-alpha reductase inhibitor known as a 5AR. This enzyme converts testosterone into DHT, which binds to and blocks the 5AR from converting it to DHT. Finasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone into DHT by blocking the enzyme’s ability to create DHT in the scalp. This leads to thicker, healthier hair and lower risk of hair loss.
